Glendale Quiz Night - 30th January 2007 - 27/03/2007
Glendale Has Been Quizzed. The first ever Glendale Agricultural Society Quiz held last week at the Tankerville Arms Hotel in Wooler has been hailed a huge success. Over 25 teams battled it out and answered a range of challenging and extremely challenging questions including of course a farming section.
The winning team, who obviously new the answers to questions such as:
What are the two breeds crossed to produce Suffolk sheep?
What oil is produced from hemp?
Was team, John and Helen Renner and Nick and Fiona Renner Thompson.
Current Chairman of the Society, Scott Donaldson was absolutely delighted with the huge attendance; “Our aim is to bring people together and tonight we have brought over one hundred people together for a most enjoyable evening and for what we hope will become and annual event. I would especially like to thank Margaret Brown for her time in arranging the evening and Ronald Barber for being and excellent Quiz Master.”
The Glendale Agricultural Society who present and arrange the Glendale Show also organise a number of other events throughout the year such as local food tastings, farm walks and the annual social evening.
