LEAF Open Farm SunÂday, manÂaged by LEAF (LinkÂing EnviÂronÂment And FarmÂing), is one of the farmÂing industry’s biggest sucÂcess stoÂries. Since the first Open Farm SunÂday in 2006, over 1600 farmÂers across the UK have opened their gates and welÂcomed over 2.7 milÂlion peoÂple onto farms for one SunÂday each year.
It is a fanÂtasÂtic opporÂtuÂniÂty for everyÂone, young and old, to disÂcovÂer at first hand what it means to be a farmer and the fabÂuÂlous work they do proÂducÂing our food, enhancÂing the counÂtryÂside and all the goods and serÂvices farmÂers provide.
Each event is unique based around the farm’s indiÂvidÂual stoÂry. ActivÂiÂties durÂing the day may include a farm walk, nature trail, tracÂtor and trailÂer rides, demonÂstraÂtions, pond dipÂping, activÂiÂties for chilÂdren, a mini farmÂers marÂket or farm shop.
